SCC Pool Finals!
(December 27, 2010)SUTTON CC POOL TOURNAMENT - FINALS NIGHT!
A 50-strong crowd witnessed three absorbing pool matches on Finals Night at Cheam Road.
In the first semi-final, Anthony Sorrell took the opening frame before Matt ‘The Bear’ Lewis leveled things up at one apiece. Sorrell moved in front again with an impressive clearance in frame three and went on to record a 3-1 success. It was to become a familiar scoreline for Lewis when his beloved Chelsea fell by the same margin later on!
A see-saw of a battle between Brian Webb and Paul Liddiard could have gone either way and required a fifth frame. The decider was an open affair from the outset but Liddiard finally took the honours and a place against in the Final against his brother-in-law.
Sorrell had one hand on the trophy when two frames to the good in the Final. However, Liddiard clawed his way back into the match and took the deciding frame after a rare error by his opponent.

The SCC Pool Championship 2011 will commence in October 2011. Draw to be made following the Single Wicket at the end of September 2011.
